Joe attended Purcell High School before entering the Marine Corps. He fought in some of the toughest battles in the South Pacific during WWII, including Iwo Jima, Tinian and Saipan.

Joe’s greatest pride was his family, and he was happiest when everyone was together. He loved his pets, with three dogs and two cats at his side during the last days of his short illness.
