Betty Lou Swinford (nee Gevermuehle) passed away Friday March 10, 2017 at her home in Union, KY, born April 11, 1953 in St Louis MO to her beloved parents Edward and Elvera Gevermuehle who predeceased her.

She attended Notre Dame High School in St. Louis, MO and then went on to receive an Associate Degree from St. Louis Community College at Meramec, MO. A resident of Union KY for over 21 years and member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Union, KY. A retired IRS Revenue Officer of over 30 years, long time Cincinnati Zoo volunteer and Founder of Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key FL.

Survived by her loving husband of over 32 years Fred A Swinford, her loving stepdaughter Juanita (Erika) Anderson and beloved mother in law of Wayne (Deuce) Anderson, along with Fred’s loving relatives from the Marksberry Family, also survived by loving cousins Shirley Roland, Cheryl Fairchild, Arlene Jenkins and dearest friends John and Barbara Boemker, Steve and Zona Saylor, Jerry and Terry Soden along with many other friends and relatives. A true animal lover and fierce defender of animal rights to be severely missed by her beloved Cocker Spaniel dogs Ebony and Gypsy.

Visitation to be held at Don Catchen & Sons Funeral Home 3525 Dixie Highway Elsmere KY 41018 Tuesday March 14, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and the Mass of Christian Burial to be held Wednesday, March 15th at St. Timothy Catholic Church 10272 Highway 42 Union, KY at 10:00am. Betty Swinford will be interred at the Park Lawn Cemetery 1800 Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis, MO on Thursday March 16, 2017 at 10:00am.
