Dr. James W. Messer, age 83 of Anderson Township, passed away April 30, 2017. Loving father of Sue (Mike) Kasprzak of Loveland. Devoted brother of Lenore Campebello of Crystal Lake, Illinois. Beloved uncle of Ritchie, Mark, Jimmy, and David Campbello.

James was a member of St. John Fisher Church. He retired from the Food & Drug Administration as a microbiologist. He lived in Pakistan for two years while working for the University of Maryland. James was a true lover of gambling, nature, and birds.

He was a self-taught and successful stock market investor, and a real contributor to various children's charities.
