Gerald Anthony Rouse, born to the late Louis and Julia Rouse, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. He was 64 years old.

Loving father of Gerald (Emilie) Rouse Jr., Scott (Mary) Rouse and Mark Rouse. Proud grandfather of Gerald Rouse III and Edward Rouse. Survived by his siblings Patricia Gabriel, Mary Carol O’Connor, Louis Rouse, Sondra Dutro, Joseph Rouse, Susan Lanham, Barbara Koch and Judith Burke. Brother to the late Charles Rouse. Loved by his surviving cousins and the extended Wehby family. Cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Born almost three months premature, Gerald (“Jerry”) and his nine siblings grew up in Cincinnati in a three-story brownstone in a Lebanese community along the Ohio River. He moved to Mt. Lookout after the family was forced to give up its home to make room for Fort Washington Way.

He attended Cardinal Pacelli School, St. Xavier High School (Class of 1971) and Miami University (Class of 1975).

His career path crossed multiple industries including insurance, corporate recruiting and security operations.

Jerry was a devout Catholic and always demonstrated his genuine love for his family and countless friends and acquaintances. He had an incredible sense of humor and used it constantly to bring joy to those around him.

He was an avid supporter of St. Xavier High School and its mission to assist young men in their formation as leaders and men for others. Jerry wanted nothing more in life than for that mission to succeed through his sons.

Jerry held an equal love for his alma mater Miami University where he established life-long friendships with his fraternity brothers of Sigma Nu. After graduation, he served in various alumni relation efforts.

During his young professional years, Jerry enjoyed athletic competition and won a State of Ohio Handball Championship in 1987. Many of his closest friends came from the Cincinnati handball community. He frequently played tennis with his brother Joe at the Cincinnati Tennis Club.

Recently, Jerry loved spending time with his sons, daughters-in-law and grandsons as well as “holding court” at the Starbucks in Rookwood. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
